SUMMER
SEASON FAQs
Q1. My team doesn’t currently play at Pine Rivers; can we still play?
A1. Sure
can, all teams are welcome!
Q2. How do I register a team?
A2.
Step 1: The team manager registers the TEAM
direct to the Summer Competition in the appropriate age group and division.
Team managers add players as part of this registration process or can invite
players to join the team after completing the registration via Netball Connect.
Managers will need to have Name, Email and Phone Numbers for all players to be
added. (existing players need to make sure it is the same as currently in NC or
you will create a new ID and be charged incorrectly – screen shot within your
app).
Step 2: Players will receive an email to
register with the team. Upon registering payment is made by the player.
See our HOW TO NOMINATE A TEAM AND ADD PLAYERS cheat
sheet for more detail.
Q3. How much does it cost to play Summer Nights?
A3.
Returning
Players: Returning
Competitive & Modified players (must register under existing Netball Connect
ID) $56.00.
New Players (have not registered with NQ in
2026) $120.00
Modified
players MUST register as a Junior player and not a netsetgo player for Summer
Q4. Do we need to provide an umpire?
A4. Yes,
each team is responsible for sourcing their own umpire for each of their games.
Teams are also responsible for paying their umpire. Please contact your
clubs for help with umpires. Your umpires should be someone confident and
experienced enough to umpire the age group and division your team is entering.
Q5. Will nominations close and are divisions capped?
A5. All divisions
are capped and once the division is full Netball Connect will not allow teams
to register into that division. Please DO NOT nominate into a division
that is not suitable for your players / teams ability. PRNA have the right to
deny a team nomination if they are found to be under graded. Instead join our
waiting list, and if other divisions don’t fill, we will add more teams to
popular divisions. We are limited to
courts like last year and we will not accept teams nominating lower and flogging
teams
Q6. How will the waiting list work?
A6. If your
division is full, please complete the Waiting List Form. You will then be
contacted when a spot opens to register your team. WAITING LIST. This window
will only be a small window of time so that other registrations don’t sneak
through. If a team nomination sneaks through at one of these times, PRNA have
the right to remove them from the nominated list to the waiting list. Your
manager will be advised.
Q7. What do we need to wear?
A7. Teams
can choose to wear full club uniform, or to have all players in the same colour
tops and bottoms with overhead bibs.
Q8. How long will the games go for?
A8. Games
will consist of 4 x 11-minute quarters, with breaks of 2 minutes.
Q9. We need to forfeit a game, what do we do?
A9.
Forfeits need to be completed on this FORFEIT FORM by midday of game day. This is so
we can advise the opposing team in plenty of time. Late forfeits may result in
a fine.
Q10. Will you be Live Scoring?
A10. Yes – Managers
will need to assign scorers each week. The home team scores and away team
supervise. Adult teams must have scorers! Any issues on the night, please see Control.
Q11. Can I tape my earrings / nails?
A11. No
taping of jewellery (except a medical alert bracelet or wedding ring) is
allowed. Nails must be cut and not taped. Gloves can be worn.
Q12. Can we do a rolling substitution?
A12. Yes,
rolling substitutions are allowed for all age groups. Teams are permitted to
make substitutions during play, as well as during stoppages and intervals.
There is no limit to the number of substitutions that can be made, and more
than one substitution may be made at any time. Substitutions are not required; they
are at the discretion of the coach. Substitutions occur in the substitution box
clearly marked near the coaching box on each court. Players must not go offside
exiting or entering the court. Players must make the change over in the
substitution box. If an incorrect substitution is made the umpire can penalize
the team.
Q13. Will there be Grounds Duty to complete?
